Date: May 17, 2025
Location: Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh

India is all set to launch its second space mission of the year today. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will launch a powerful Earth-observing radar satellite aboard the PSLV (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle) from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.

This mission will help monitor natural disasters, track deforestation, and improve agricultural planning through advanced radar imaging, even during cloudy weather or at night. Scientists believe this launch will significantly boost India's space-based observation capabilities.

The live launch broadcast will be available on ISRO’s official website and social media channels.

Why it matters:
This mission is part of India’s growing commitment to space technology and Earth monitoring, helping not just India, but many other countries with satellite data services.
